In Greece we bring play and laughter to young refugees, children and adults with disabilities, kids from Roma communities, and children in state care.
This year we’re running play programmes in Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Poland, Romania and Serbia. Our teams of smile specialists are bringing light and laughter to young refugees, children and adults with disabilities, kids from Roma communities, older people in supported accommodation, and children growing up in state care.
What we’ve done so far
We launched our first-ever laughter mission back in 2008, with a visit to Romania. Since then, we’ve shared smiles with children in all kinds of circumstances all across Europe.
We run regular, year-round play programmes in our home countries of the UK, Norway and the Netherlands. And through our international projects we’ve worked in Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland and Serbia.
Our current work in Europe
On top of our national play programmes for children in the UK, Norway and the Netherlands, our international work in 2026 is taking us to Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Romania and Serbia.
This year, we’re continuing our working with young refugees, children growing up in state care, older people in supported accommodation, kids who were evacuated from Ukraine, and children from Roma communities.
We’re also expanding our work with young people and adults with disabilities, by rolling out our new Sensory Circus model more widely. This approach creates a more accessible and interactive version of our shows and play workshops, based on participant-led sensory exploration using bespoke circus settings and equipment.
