Over the past years, Lebos has become a hotspot of tension, struggle and hardship for thousands of families seeking refuge in Europe. Those living there are woefully under-provisioned, and often find themselves in extremely challenging circumstances with very little respite from the struggle to survive. Among the dangerously over-crowded camps are thousands of young people who are losing their childhoods.
Each year, we return as winter sets in and the harsh weather lowers morale and turns hope to fear. The aim of Love on Lesbos is simple: to make sure there’s a reason to smile, in spite of everything else these families are suffering with.
